CET 2026 Graduation Level Exam Overview
- The RSMSSB conducts the Rajasthan Common Eligibility Test for Graduation Level as an offline, OMR-based exam. The paper consists of 150 objective-type questions carrying a total of 300 marks, and candidates get 3 hours to complete it.
- The exam awards 2 marks for each correct answer and deducts ⅓ mark for every wrong answer under the negative marking scheme.
- The CET score remains valid for 3 years, and candidates must possess it to apply for various subordinate and ministerial posts under the Rajasthan government.
CET 2026 Graduation Level Exam Detailed Syllabus
Mental Ability & Reasoning, Basic Numerical Efficiency
- This section carries the highest weightage with 45 questions for 90 marks. The reasoning part covers analogies, classification, number and letter series, coding and decoding, blood relations, direction sense, ranking, syllogism, statements and conclusions, seating arrangements, puzzles, calendar, clock, dice, Venn diagrams, and non-verbal reasoning like mirror images and paper folding.
- The numerical ability portion includes number system, HCF and LCM, fractions, simplification, percentage, profit and loss, simple and compound interest, ratio and proportion, partnership, mixtures, averages, time and work, pipes and cisterns, time speed and distance, algebra, geometry, mensuration, sequences, series, and basic probability and permutations.
- The exam also tests data interpretation through tables, bar graphs, line graphs, pie charts, and caselets.
General Science, History, Polity, Geography of India, GK & Current Affairs
A total of 38 questions for 76 marks are asked in this section. General Science is based on the 10th standard level and includes topics from Physics like motion, force, energy, light, sound, and electricity, Chemistry like matter, atoms, acids, bases, and metals, and Biology like life processes, human body, diseases, and environment.
Indian History covers ancient periods like the Indus Valley and the Mauryan Empire, medieval periods like the Delhi Sultanate and the Mughals, and modern history, including the British period and the freedom struggle from 1857 to 1947. Indian Polity focuses on the Constitution, preamble, fundamental rights and duties, Union and State governments, Parliament, judiciary, Panchayati Raj, and constitutional bodies.
Geography includes physical features of India, climate, soils, natural vegetation, agriculture, minerals, industries, and population. The economy section covers basic concepts, planning, budget, banking, inflation, and government schemes. Current affairs of the last year related to national and international events, sports, awards, important days, and science and technology are also important
Geography, History, Culture & Polity of Rajasthan
- This section has 30 questions for 60 marks and is very important for Rajasthan exams.
- History covers ancient civilizations like Kalibangan and Ahar, major dynasties of Mewa
- Marwar, Jaipur, the freedom movement in Rajasthan, the Praja Mandal movements, and the unification of Rajasthan.
- Culture includes famous fairs and festivals like Teej, Gangaur, and Pushkar Fair, folk dances like Ghoomar
- Kalbelia, folk music, paintings like Phad and Miniature, handicrafts like blue pottery and bandhej, and major tourist places.
- Geography covers physical divisions like the Aravalli
- Thar Deserts, rivers like the Luni and Chambal, climate, soil, natural resources, minerals, and agriculture
- Polity includes the formation of Rajasthan, the role of the Governor
- Chief Minister, State Legislature, High Court, and the Panchayati Raj system.
- The economy part focuses on animal husbandry, industries, and state government schemes.
General English & Hindi Language
The language section contains 22 questions for 44 marks. General English tests grammar topics like tense, voice, narration, articles, and prepositions, vocabulary including synonyms, antonyms, one word substitution, and idioms, plus sentence correction, error spotting, fill in the blanks, comprehension passages, para jumbles, and cloze test. General Hindi covers संधि, समास, उपसर्ग, प्रत्यय, पर्यायवाची शब्द, विलोम शब्द, अनेकार्थी शब्द, वाक्य शुद्धि, मुहावरे, लोकोक्तियाँ और अपठित गद्यांश. Both languages are taught at the graduation level, but focus on fundamental usage and understanding.
Basic Computer Knowledge
This section has 15 questions for 30 marks. It tests the fundamentals of computers, including input and output devices, memory, hardware, and software, the basics of operating systems like Windows, MS Office tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with important shortcuts, internet concepts, email, web browsers, networking basics, and cybersecurity topics like viruses, malware, and safety measures. Knowledge of daily life applications of computers is also checked
