Educational Qualification
To apply for the Assam Nurse recruitment in 2026, candidates are required to hold a B.Sc. Nursing or GNM degree from a university or institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), and must have completed the mandatory internship.
Note – It is mandatory for any candidate wishing to apply to be registered with the Assam Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors Council; without this registration, the candidate will not be able to apply.

To apply for this, candidates must be at least 18 years of age, while the maximum age limit varies according to the candidate’s category, as specified below.

Ideal for: Applicants in Western Assam, including the Guwahati metropolitan area (Kamrup M). (This is the largest zone in terms of district coverage.
4. North Assam Zone
Districts Included: Biswanath, Darrang, Sonitpur, and Udalguri.
Ideal for: Candidates located along the northern bank of the Brahmaputra River.
5. Upper Assam Zone
Districts Included: Charaideo, Dhemaji, Dibrugarh, Golaghat, Jorhat, Lakhimpur, Majuli, Sivasagar, and Tinsukia.
Ideal for: Applicants from Eastern Assam and the Majuli island district.
